Fangt die Mäuschen!
Fangt die Mäuschen! (catch the little mice!) is a 1968 uncredited game, published at SPIKA GmbH.
One player controls the two cats, and the other controls the twelve mice. The cats start at the orange circles, near the pantry (the eight yellow circles), while the mice start at the blue circles,
The rules (automatic translation):
The mice begin the game. They try, step by step, to reach the pantry. In doing so, they may use the white spaces as intermediate steps. The mice may move only one space at a time (alternating turns with the cats). They may move in all directions, but cannot move back into their hole. They also cannot jump over cats or other mice. This means the mice cannot catch the cats.
The cats’ task is to prevent the mice from reaching the pantry. For this, they have a small aid: The black cross-hatched space is a mouse trap. If a mouse steps on this space, it is caught and eliminated from the game. The two cats can also catch mice by jumping over them. They need an empty space behind the mouse for the jump to be allowed. The cats can move in all directions. They may only jump over a mouse if the mouse is on a white (intermediate) field. The cats can therefore only catch a mouse if it is standing on a white field.
Jumping over mice only in the white cells seems too restrictive, given the number of available cats.
This is Fox'n'Geese-like game, with some special cells. This extra cells could easily expand the creation of similar games with more exotic powers, abilities and traps.
